BestSelf Behavioral Health has launched a groundbreaking initiative to support runaway youth in partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and the Buffalo Police Department. This two-year, $175,000 pilot program—the first of its kind in New York State—expands the Scott Bieler Child Advocacy Center at BestSelf’s ability to help missing children. By introducing a Youth Runaway Coordinator, the initiative strengthens community response efforts, ensuring that once runaway youth are found, they receive vital support, including therapy, family assistance, and crisis counseling. Supported by the Community Foundation’s Racial Equity Roundtable, this program sets a new standard for child advocacy across the state.
